Let's get right to it. How do I get paid when I win? Your choice! If you have a PayPal account, we'll deposit your winnings. If you would prefer a check, one will be mailed to you. Please note that the email address associated with your PayPal account must be the one you used to register for Hong Kong Louie, and the address to where the check will be mailed must be the one used to register for Hong Kong Louie. If you would prefer another method, we'll be happy to accomodate you, as long as it doesn't violate the laws of any jurisdiction. And Hong Kong Louie will take care of the transfer fees and currency-conversion charges, so that you receive the full amount of the prize.
How secure is the information I provide at Registration? Information provided at Registration is securely transmitted using TSL 1.2, currently the highest level of encryption (please note the "https" in the URLs of our pages). Email addresses are not shared with any person or organization for any reason, and are used by HongKongLouie.com strictly for the purposes you specify in your email preferences. All other information on this form is not shared with any person or organization for any reason. No cookies or other tracking mechanisms are placed on your computer, tablet, or cell phone by HongKongLouie.com. HongKongLouie.com protects and respects your privacy to the greatest extent possible.
You (soon will) have great sponsors with interesting products. If I purchase something from a sponsor, will I have a better chance of winning a Contest? No. Contests presented by HongKongLouie.com require skill to win. There is no purchase required, nor any other obligation, to enter a Contest, and no advantage is gained by patronizing a sponsor.
Why must you report my winnings to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service? Because it's the law.
Why must you withhold a small percentage of my winnings above a certain threshhold, and remit that withholding to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service? Because it's the law. [Just file a tax return, and you'll probably get most of it back. It's like money in the bank. Consult a tax advisor. 90% of something is better than 100% of nothing.]
What if I register using a fake name? Wow. What a genius you are to think of that! Winner's checks are made out to the name used, and mailed to the address specified, at Registration. When you win a Contest, and if we discover that the name or other information under which you Registered is false, your entry will be declared void, and the prize money will be awarded to the next highest (legitimate) scorer. If we don't discover that your Registration information is false, good luck with cashing the check.

Why can't young people under 18 years old enter Contests? Some jurisdictions impose more stringent regulations on entities that permit young people to enter. We do not have the resources to catalog and then comply with those regulations.
Why can't Quebec residents enter the Contests? Quebec laws set out onerous registration and reporting requirements and give government officials the right to meddle in the administration of Contests. Even if we had the inclination to comply with these laws, we don't have the resources or time to do so. We would truly like to offer our Quebecer friends the chance for riches, but console ourselves with the knowledge that nous avons tous assez de force pour supporter les maux d'autrui.
Why are the contest prizes (currently) a mere $100? Because, at this point, that's all we can afford. Once sponsors are enlisted, the prize money will increase. Once sponsors realize the value of sponsorship, the prize money will further increase. Our goal is to offer prizes of U.S. $50,000 on most Contests, and $100,000 prizes on selected Contests, within 18 months.
Why have you chosen these particular competitions on which to offer Contests? Again, frankly, we're not sure. Some are obvious choices, and others have a quaint esoteric cachet. The best guess is that we were trying to be all things to all people, and accepted every suggestion without proper scientific analysis. On the other hand, it might be fun to handicap the Palios, and even more fun to watch them. And interest in punkin chunkin, curling, and steeplechase racing is growing at a prodigious rate among the Illuminati.
How can my company become a sponsor of a Contest? Easily, and thanks for asking. Email George at this address. You'll be sent preliminary information and a contact number you can use at your convenience. All Contest sponsorship on HongKongLouie.com is custom designed, resulting in significantly higher response rates at costs significantly less than standard advertising pricing.
